Vastint Hospitality’s AC Hotel Inverness has been awarded LEED Gold by the U.S. Green Building Council.
The 191-bedroom hotel offers modern accommodation in the heart of the Scottish Highlands.
Situated where the River Ness meets the Moray Firth, the four-star design hotel stands as the largest in Inverness, just a short walk from the railway station.
The hotel used to be a local swimming pool and many in Inverness have strong memories of this. Vastint Hospitality has reflected the pool theme in various abstract paintings in the lobby to hold on to those memories.
The architecture is modern with a little nod to the old building style in Inverness. This is reflected in the sloping roofs, the dormer windows in the roof, and the use of materials: natural stone on the facade and zinc roofing.
All 191 bedrooms are spacious, comfortable and suited for both guests on business trips as well as on holiday travels. The hotel also offers a spacious AC lounge ®, an outdoor terrace, and multiple meeting rooms for hotel guests to meet and be for any purpose.
Guests staying at the hotel have access to a well-equipped 24-hour fitness centre with floor-to-ceiling windows boasting weights and cardio equipment. Each guest room offers sleek desks, open closets and integrated bathrooms with an added sensory experience for guests who would like a lavender turndown.
LEED is the most widely used green building rating system in the world. LEED certification provides independent verification of a building’s green features, allowing for the design, construction, operations and maintenance of resource-efficient, high-performing, healthy, cost-effective buildings. LEED is the triple bottom line in action, benefiting people, planet and profit.
A standard of LEED Gold, or higher, is being sought for all further Moxy hotel projects.
