National Exhibition Centre Acquisition

Beginning of June Vastint Hospitality secured a site for a 225 room Moxy hotel at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham.

NEC has over 180,000m2 of indoor conference facilities with around 20,000 parking spaces on a 250ha site which serves around 500 events a year. Also within its grounds is the Genting Arena, a 16,000 capacity concert venue, Resorts World a 50,000m2 complex anchored by a 6,000m2 casino, hotels and a lake. NEC is also just a 2 minute free train ride to Birmingham airport which handles around 12million passengers per year. NEC is also a short train ride to Birmingham city centre, the second biggest city in the UK. All this combines to make NEC one of the top 10 events venues in the world

In the near future works will begin to the east of the NECs grounds to build a new Crossrail interchange. Crossrail will be a new high speed connection to London, Manchester and Leeds and in parallel NEC intends to master plan large areas of its estate to bring more commercial and residential to the area. Already committed to this is a new adventure theme park to be operated by Merlin Group.

Vastint’s site is immediately opposite the main entrance of the conference centre making it the best located hotel serving NEC.
