Lindenholma is a new residential quarter on the border of Riga and Marupe. It offers a blend of urban-design development and high-quality parkland — 36% of the area is taken up by buildings and 54% is dedicated to a green car-free zone.

Location

Lindenholma is located in one of the most affluent and fastest-growing suburbs of Riga – Marupe. Karla Ulmana Gatve is a high-speed road connecting the quarter to central Riga, Jurmala and the international airport. All the essentials for a comfortable life are even closer, right here in Marupe and the Pardaugava regions of Riga: international schools, kindergartens, modern private clinics, gyms and fitness studios, large supermarkets and service hotspots. The neighbourhood is growing into a self-sufficient environment with a wide range of lifestyle, work and leisure opportunities – from improved traffic infrastructure to cycle paths and restaurants, as well as plenty of options for recreation and sports.

Project

The first phase of the project consists of 6 residential buildings with 119 apartments for rent and 90 apartments for sale. In the subsequent construction phases, the green car-free environment will be further developed along with 13 different buildings offering 457 more apartments. Lindenholma is unique in the richness of its green car-free courtyards. More than 14,440 plants, especially suited for Latvian weather conditions, are already growing on site, creating lush and vibrant grounds. There are 102 large 20-25-year-old trees, including five different types of linden trees, 1158 bushes, and 13,180 decorative plants and evergreens. The landscape is designed to bloom with every season. Particular effort has been invested in creating spaces for outdoor activities. Children of various ages have four safely-located playgrounds at their disposal, while adults benefit from outdoor training equipment, table-tennis tables, basketball and volleyball courts, as well as comfortable spaces for yoga and repose. Cars can be parked in the multi-storey car park just nearby, as well as in surface parking spaces. For bicycles, both outdoor and lockable indoor racks have been installed. Multiple paved paths cross the courtyard, and there are access zones for delivery and emergency vehicles.

Certifications and awards

1st place in the "New Residential Development" category of the Best Building of the Year in Latvia 2020 Awards. 2nd place in the "New Residential Building" category of the Latvian Construction Industry’s Annual Awards 2020. 3rd place in the "Most Sustainable Project 2020" category of the Sustainability in Architecture, Construction, Design 2020 Awards, being the only residential project among the winners. The buildings at 31, 33 Daibes Street and 8 Maldugunu Street have received Energy Class B certifications, while the buildings at 6, 10 and 12 Maldugunu Street have received Energy Class A certifications, with the projected level of heating energy consumption equivalent to national requirements for nearly zero-energy buildings.

Extra amenities

The Business Garden www.businessgarden.eu office campus is adjacent to Lindenholma, which will ultimately offer 70,000 m² of modern office space after the completion of all building phases. To the Lindenholma residents, an active business environment means extra amenities, including the Patnis private childcare centre, the Brunch Garden restaurant, car-sharing and micro-mobility points, 24/7 video surveillance and security station, as well as on-site technical personnel who look after both projects.
