On June 20th of this year the emerging Business Garden Rīga office building campus held its first topping out celebration, signifying that the first stage of building structures have reached their highest point.
Following Latvian tradition the topping out ceremony was opened by placing wreaths on the highest point of the first two buildings. The celebration gathered everyone involved in the first stage of construction. Words of gratitude for the great accomplishment and job well done were expressed by the developer of the project Vastint Latvia SIA Managing Director Romāns Astahovs: “Just seven months ago a time capsule was placed in the foundations of these buildings, and today we are already standing on the roof of the building and celebrating reaching its highest point. An impressive amount of work has been done in such a short time. This wouldn’t be possible without cooperation between everyone involved in the construction project, without teamwork – for that I would like to thank everyone in attendance. The buildings have taken a shape that will be noticed by both city residents, as well as guests and business people on their way from the airport”.
General contractor Skonto Būve SIA Member of the Board Juris Pētersons and construction supervisor Forma 2 SIA Member of the Board Jānis Zolbergs also had plenty of kind words about the accomplishments during the first stage of construction.
The first round of Business Garden Rīga construction includes two office buildings with a total of 14 000 m2 of leasable area, as well as an underground and expansive above ground car park for office employees and guests. In total the complex will contain five buildings, offering more than 42 000 m2 of modern office space. Business Garden Rīga will create a work environment that will help the office building resident businesses attract and hold on to talented employees. The campus is being constructed on a human scale: the buildings have five stories with green and spacious courtyards. It will be a new office building campus, that is created according to the highest Vastint and international standards. The office buildings will be certified according to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) methodology.
