Courtyard by Marriott Glasgow SEC has been awarded LEED Gold

Vastint Hospitality’s Courtyard by Marriott Glasgow Scottish Exhibition Centre in the UK has been awarded LEED Gold by the U.S. Green Building Council.

The 216-room hotel is located in the centre of the city’s events district, right next to the Scottish Exhibition Centre and connects into the multi-storey car park at Finnieston Street in Glasgow. The Scottish Exhibition Centre includes the SSE Hydro (concert venue), SEC Armadillo (auditorium) and SEC Centre (exhibition and event halls).

Set in the Glasgow SEC Campus, the Courtyard by Marriott blends comfort and convenience. Aimed at business travelers visiting Glasgow for trade fairs and exhibitions, the hotel aims to deliver a world-class experience.

The hotel includes a spacious lobby, a restaurant with private dining rooms, and has a conference centre and gym on the first floor. The seven meeting rooms are built to host business events or board meetings, all equipped with hi-tech AV and natural daylight.

Its 216 rooms are thoughtfully designed for the modern-day traveler and feature flexible workspace, plush beds, and space to recharge after a day of meetings. The hotel is built to the highest eco-standards.

LEED is the most widely used green building rating system in the world. LEED certification provides independent verification of a building’s green features, allowing for the design, construction, operations and maintenance of resource-efficient, high-performing, healthy, cost-effective buildings. LEED is the triple bottom line in action, benefiting people, planet and profit.
