Today Moxy Glasgow Merchant City reopened its doors. The 181-bedroom hotel is located in the city centre of Glasgow. The reopening was celebrated together with its operator Hotel Co 51.
Following on from Moxy Aberdeen Airport reopening on 1 February and the brand new Moxy Edinburgh Fountainbridge opening on 17 February, Moxy Glasgow Merchant City is Vastint’s third Moxy hotel in the UK to open its doors in 4 weeks.
Whilst the hotel reopened during the current nationwide lockdown, rooms will currently only be available to key workers and business travellers. When Scottish Government restrictions are lifted, the hotel is ready to welcome all guests back.
Hotel General Manager and Captain Ross Saunders says “We are over the moon to be reopening the hotel to key workers from March 1st. After 11 months of closure, the team and I cannot wait to bring Moxy back to Glasgow. When restrictions are lifted, we look forward to welcoming all guests back to our hotel for the Moxy experience. Our food and drink options have been adjusted to comply with government guidelines, offering fresh products for all keyworkers staying with us.”
Area Sales Manager UK North, Derek MacMillan added “We are extremely happy to be opening our hotel again. We’re only available for key workers currently but hopefully in the Summer we’ll be able to welcome guests for Euro 2020 and TRNSMT – that would be amazing.”
