Recently the Municipality of The Hague announced that Vastint Hospitality BV, with its ‘Scheveningse Kaai’ plan, won the tender for Dr. Lelykade in Scheveningen. The tender programme consists of a multi-tenant maritime commercial building with additional functions. Three parties selected by the Municipality participated in the tender.
Vastint’s ‘Scheveningse Kaai’ plan is for the development of a multi-tenant maritime commercial building which will soon provide new accommodation for a range of local businesses around the Tweede Haven (Second Harbour) in Scheveningen. Along one side of the development, adjacent to ‘de Pijp’, a new Moxy Hotel will be created. This 144-room hotel will be built above the ground floor accommodating the businesses. A parking deck will be constructed on the roof of the commercial units along Zeesluisweg.
Moxy is the latest lifestyle brand of Marriott International, focusing on a younger target group and priced for the middle segment. With its lively public spaces and relaxed style, Moxy serves both the business and leisure markets. Its hotels target primarily the Millennials, young professionals who travel frequently and pursue an adventurous and independent lifestyle. The hotel has a large lobby and lounge where guests can enjoy breakfast or a drink. Guests will, of course, have plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes around the Tweede Haven to choose from too.
According to the schedule, work will begin at the end of 2018 and the building will be ready for its new occupants to move in at the end of 2019.
