Vastint Latvia celebrates second-phase topping-out at Magdelena’s Quarter

On Friday, 15 March, a topping-out ceremony was held at Magdelena’s Quarter in Riga to celebrate reaching the highest point in the construction of the second phase of the quarter, which is being developed by Vastint Latvia.

This time, wreaths were placed simultaneously on the roof ridges of two buildings, symbolizing the completion of the most extensive construction works. Festive speeches and words of gratitude to the builders were delivered by Romāns Astahovs, Managing Director of Vastint Latvia; Pēteris Bajārs, lead architect of OUTOFBOX and responsible for the building design; and Sergejs Frolovs, chief construction supervisor of the project and head of Būvuzraugi LV.

With these buildings, we want to redefine what it means to have a modern working environment at the very heart of the capital’s central business district. The highest standards of sustainability and quality, a perfect work-life balance, and impressive contemporary architecture in the heart of Riga’s Quiet Centre – this is the formula for excellence at Magdelena’s Quarter, reaffirmed by these second-phase buildings. I thank all the builders who carried out these works with so much care and commitment. We all have a lot to be proud of“, said Romāns Astahovs, Managing Director of Vastint Latvia.

Along with the speeches, the 130 guests of the event had the chance to meet a stilt walker, enjoy a picturesque panorama of the rooftops of Riga, and indulge themselves with a delicious meal, snacks, and drinks to the rhythm of background DJ music, as well as watching an acrobatic dance performance.

The second phase of Magdelena’s Quarter will offer a total of 9,500 m2 of modern and sustainable Class A office space and 1,200 m2 of commercial space, including a restaurant and a grocery store.

The construction of the buildings has been carried out in compliance with Vastint international technical standards, LEED Platinum certification, and Nearly Zero Energy Buildings (nZEB) requirements. The electricity for the buildings will be 100% renewable.

The offices will boast elegant interiors, a wide range of amenities, and landscaped outdoor spaces in the heart of the Quiet Centre. The buildings are scheduled to be put into use at the end of 2024.
