AC Hotel by Marriott Riga is the first Marriott hotel in Latvia and the largest Marriott in the Baltic’s. The hotel has 239 comfortable and modern rooms, four excellently lit multi-functional conference rooms on the building’s top floor, relaxation zones, a gourmet restaurant and a fitness center. Taking into consideration the well-being of both hotel guests and the city’s inhabitants, the front of the hotel features relaxation zones surrounded by greenery.
The original building was erected in 1969 and was home to the Central Mechanization and Automation Design Constructor Bureau. In 2005 the building was reconstructed by Vastint Latvia and an additional eleventh storey with a glass façade was created. Early 2018, the renovation work on the hotel was carried out to meet the high standards required by AC Hotels by Marriott.
The public space in front of the building also underwent noticeable changes. A spacious recreation zone has been created for both guests of the hotel and passers-by, including benches and a terrace surrounded by apple trees. The adjacent intersection of Dzirnavu iela and Antonijas iela has been improved and the speed-limit of motorized traffic has been decreased to make the zone more pedestrian friendly.
The new hotel opened its doors in June 2019. The hotel management company Legendhotels Latvija has signed a 20-year franchise agreement with Marriott International.
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification is based upon a rating system that evaluates a building’s adherence to internationally recognized sustainability criteria regarding construction and renovation.
Receiving the Gold level in the certification process confirms the high-quality standards of Vastint Latvia. Vastint Latvia adheres to these standards in the development of all their projects and strives to follow sustainability principles in their choice of materials used for both construction and interior finishing. This results in creating an environment that is enjoyable and conducive to people’s health and well-being.
