SwedeCenter’s project Business Garden Poznan has been pre-certified as LEED Gold by USGBC. It is the first business park and the second project in Poznan which has obtained the certificate. The project will be developed near Bulgarska and Marcelinska Streets. Construction of phase 1 of the project will start in 2013.
Business Garden Poznan, one of three business parks executed under the brand Business Garden, is a Class A business complex comprising nine buildings with the planned leasable area of approximately 80,000 m2. The complex offers a fully independent working environment and features office and retail space and the related amenities.
Just like in all other Business Garden projects, the one in Poznan was designed based on modern and energy-saving technical solutions compliant with LEED certification requirements, which is proven by the pre-certification for the developer. The proven technologies and environment-friendly solutions guarantee top quality working environment and make it possible to reduce the project’s operating costs, which the tenants will benefit from. The above-mentioned technologies and solutions include the use of local materials to reduce exhaust gas emissions during transportation; an energy-saving lighting system comprising a control system and motion sensors switching off redundant lights on the common areas of the building; an energy-saving ventilation and cooling system based on cooling beams; green roofs which eliminate the so-called heat island effect; water-saving fixtures; a solution that makes it possible to gather and use rain water to water green areas; or parking lots for bicycles with showers and locker rooms for bikers in the underground parking garage.
Roger Andersson, Managing Director of SwedeCenter, said, “The fact that the business park has been pre-certified as LEED Gold confirms that the park was designed in accordance with environment-friendly building principles. We hope that upon completion, all Business Garden buildings in Poznan will be certified as LEED Gold.”
The project will be executed in two phases. The commencement of the first phase which includes the construction of four office buildings with a total area of 42,000 m2 at Marcelinska Street was planned for the first quarter of 2013.
