The second stage of Waterfront involves the development of a nearly five-hectare area within the streets of Waszyngtona, Hryniewickiego and Jana Pawła II. In the scope of the planned development residential, office, and public buildings will be created, including numerous retail premises, a hotel, a cinema, conference area and spa. The important part of the project are the passages leading to the public square. Landscaping emphasizes the individual functions of the areas: classic elements like arcades and pergolas were used, forming the so-called ‘soft borders’. Thanks to these the area will not feel separated from its surroundings. Public, yet intimate nature of urban interiors is characterized by a human scale, conducive to creating a good atmosphere and "life between the buildings”.
Location
The area between the streets of Washington and Kosciuszko Square without doubt is one of the most prestigious and important sites in Gdynia. Direct neighborhood piers of tourist attractions and a number of events that take place in the immediate vicinity, create enormous potential for the planned buildings to become an important part of a public space of the city.
