An award-winning residential quarter with commercial spaces and offices
Once all three construction stages are finished, the quarter will contain 300 apartments and over 20,000 sq.m² of office and commercial space. The project includes a unique concept in Riga’s historical city centre — the quarter is open to the public, with pedestrian streets running through it, retail premises and restaurants at the buildings’ street level, and a central square for socialising and public events.
The quarter’s dedication to sustainable design was recognized when the building project was named “Best Commercial Project” by The Building Design and Construction Council in the ‘Most Sustainable Project in Latvia 2017’ category.
Location
Magdelēnas kvartāls is located on a 2.5 ha site in Riga’s Quiet Centre, between Antonijas, Melngaiļa and Strēlnieku streets. The Quiet Centre is a refined district and just a short distance away lie Skanste and New Hanza — dynamic business area that is destined to become Riga’s future modern business hub. The area is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is surrounded by a well-developed infrastructure, beautiful city parks and top cultural institutions.
