The Portowo project was entered into the strategic development programme of the City of Poznan called “River in the City” and it will be realised – as the first project in Poznan – in accordance with the strategy guidelines, in particular with respect to the top flood safety standards. The development of the Warta River’s embankment will include: the re-creation of the Warta River’s branch, construction of a marina for motor boats and kayaks, along with the necessary infrastructure, including water equipment rental shops and water transport means, the construction of bicycle paths and pedestrian walkways as well as green zones and leisure zones along the embankment.
The project is planned on a 15-hectare site located at the Warta River, in direct vicinity of the centre of Poznan, near one of the most important junctions, Rondo Starolecka.
